Saturns Rings: Longer History Than Believed?

Recently, scientists have discovered that the rings on Saturn have existed longer then scientists have previously thought. The rings just may be as old as the solar system. Previously, in the 1970's, they had believed that the rings were around for a hundred million years. Their previous prediction was the rings formed in leftovers from a meteoric collision with the moon. Their prediction was based on the 1970's voyagers. Although, the most recent space probe shows that they were created almost 4.5 billion years ago! That's almost the same time that the sun and the planets formed! Also, the space probe (Cassini) discovered that rings are constantly breaking and re-building themselves. That must be a lot of work!
There are seven main rings on Saturn. There are also many, many ringlets. They are made with orbiting ice combined with dust and rock bits.
If you want to know more about Saturn's rings, research it online! It's a big topic now! It's everywhere! If you want to know where I got the information, go here!

Runing VS Walking in the rain... Is it worth running in the rain?

The episode that I watched answered this question: Do you stay drier while running in the rain or walking in the rain? The outcome was something to think about!
In this episode Jamie and Adam tested the myth "do you stay drier while running in the rain?". Adam and Jamie created a statement of the idea that if you run, the rain falls with force on your whole body but if you walk, it only falls on your head and shoulders! Their hypothesis is that walking is better! They went through many different steps to decide how they would make it rain- instead of waiting for the next downpour. This experiment would have a controlled condition - the rain! To get started, they had a lot of information to gather. They would need to know the velocity of the rain, the speed that you are running, and many other different things to factor in! This is all just a LITTLE of everything that they would need to know! There's much more... but let's move on to SAFETY RULES!
Safety rules are very important to ANY experiment/test! But, the team just may bend a few rules every once in a while. This broken rule doesn't really apply to this particular experiment, but, Jamie needs to do something about his beard and moustache! He should tie it up! Adam used a harness while he was in the machine that bought him up to the pipes in the air. Even though the machine had bars around the platform he was standing on, he was being cautious and used the harness anyways!
The episode used science in many ways! This was an interesting episode on the ways it used science! It actually used math too! Adam and Jamie always talked about velocity. The velocity of the rain drops was important for having the effect of real rain. The scientists also needed to know the science of rain and how it works. They needed to know things like the way the rain travels.
A science background for a career in special effects is important because being a scientist will help you learn how science will create special effects. Science is the answer to basically everything, so knowing science can help you decide how to connect special effects to science.

In the end, the result is that they should walk, it'll be better. Another case closed and... BUSTED!

The Omega Meme... Answers

1. My favorite TV show is.......(explain why)
My favorite show is Hannah Montana. I love it because it is funny and I can relate to it.

2. My favorite meal is...... (explain the meal in detail)
My favorite meal is Chicken Nuggets, French Fries, and Pasta. I love the Chicken Nuggets because they are so soft and tasty, the French Fries are salty and really good, lastly the Pasta gives it a tomato-ish flavor. I also love any Mexican food because it's spicy AND still tolerable to eat (without me running in circles yelling "ooh aah! water! water!).

3. My favorite non school activity is...... (explain why but do not give specific names that can identify you)
I love going on the computer... but that's not exactly an activity! SO... I guess that I like to hang out with my friends and play my Wii. The Wii usually gets us active and we still have fun. We love to just see who can beat the bald guy in Wii Tennis. I also love to shop! Shopping teaches me to use the skills I learn in math so I get the best deal. Also, I learn how to be a wise spender and still enjoy the shopping without limiting myself to just looking at what I can buy.

4. Someone I look up to is....... (explain why)
I look up to my parents and Miley Cyrus. I look up to my parents because they teach me to live my life the best ways possible. They also teach me to be a good person. They raised me to work to achieve what I want. I admire Miley Cyrus because she may be a celebrity, but she is a normal girl at heart. In award shows she acts the way I would if I won an award. She also is a good person. She isn't like most celebrities and getting herself into trouble.

5. My goal for the future is.....
I want to be a writer and a scientist/computer programmer. But, I'm still not 100% sure!

6. In the first hour after school I usually do...... (explain why but do not give specific events or names that can identify you)
I eat for a half hour and watch TV while I eat. For the remaining 30 minutes I get a start on homework. I eat and watch TV to relax and loosen up. I get a start on HW pretty early because it usually takes a while for me to jump in to work mode to do my best!
